why so much $$$ for Atlas lathe parts The Home Machinist!

Jan 26, 2010I have an Atlas, but I think that the reputation is much more deserved for South Bend. But I do think that it's funny how parts you can make yourself (using the same machine, no less) can command high prices. The drawbar is a prime example. I almost picked up a milling attachment for your lathe at an estate sale, but I was too slow.

I'm hopeing someone here can help me with some information about the Atlas horizontal mills. I've got a guy in Berkeley California checking out one of these small mills for me that was listed for sale. I looked thru Tony's Lathes uk site. The one I'm looking at buying is a MFC model. Tony's site lists a MF-G model plus various others but nothing on the MFC model.
